Overall, BPSB's performance for the 12 months in 2004 was very encouraging. It recorded a total cargo throughput of 33,623,044 tonnes compared to 28,977,780 tonnes in 2003, an increase of 6.03%.

 It's Liquid Bulk Cargo throughput increased substantially from 23,187,299 tonnes in 2003 to 27,039,348 tonnes in  2004, an increase of 16.61%. Dry Bulk Cargo recorded a figure of 1,742,089 tonnes in 2004 compared to the figure of 1,640,229 tonnes in 2003 an increase of 6.21%. There is a slight drop in containers handled from 145,661 TEU's in 2003 to 143,783 TEUS in 2004, a decrease of about 1.29%. Total vessel calls increase to 5,617 in 2004 from 4,825 in 2003.

On 10th October 2004, the family day was held at the Bintulu Civic Centre, launched by Y.Bhg Tan Sri Dr. Samsudin bin Hitam, BPSB Chairman, Several board of directors with their spouse are also present.

The housing woes faced by staff of Bintulu Port Sdn. Bhd. will be over as the developer, Syarikat Perumahan Negara Berhad (SPNB) is expected to deliver at least 154 units of houses to respective buyers by January 2004.
