Labour

Stevedores and cargo handling equipment are supplied by BPSB on three (3) shifts operations.

Supply of fresh water

Fresh water is available at all times for supply to ships. Delivery and supply is through hydrants at the bulk and general cargo berths, container terminal and the petroleum jetty.

Pilotage

Pilotage is compulsory for all vessels 25 metres length overall (l.o.a) and above entering or leaving the port water limits. Pilotage services are available around the clock and incoming vessels shall contact Bintulu Port Control Tower on Channel 12 when they are within VHF range.

Ships in distress can contact the port on Channel 16 and an SSB station is in operation on 463 KHz. The pilot boarding position is located at:

Towage

Tug services for berthing and unberthing of vessels are available. The port provides the following tugs:

3 units 42 tonnes Bollard Pull Ship Handling Tugs

2 units 25 tonnes Bollard Pull Twin Screw Tugs

1 units 11 tonnes Bollard Pull Twin Screw Tugs

Bunkering

Bunker is available round the clock at the Petroleum Jetty. Bunker is supplied by Petronas Dagangan Berhad and Shell Timur Sdn. Bhd.

Diving

Bintulu Port has a team of divers on standby at any time of the day to assist ship in distress or to undertake search and rescue operations.
